*    People learn about culture, behavior, values, attitude etc. through the process social interaction. Through interaction on individual become an active participant member in the society. This process is called socialization.
*    The family and educational institution are the chief agencies of socialization.
*    The family is the basic social institution on which depends from the time of our birth.
*    There three types of family joint family, nuclear family, extended family.
*    Joint family means, A group of people who generally leave under one roof, Who eat food cooked at one heart ,who hold properly in common and who participate in common family worship, and are related to each other as some particular type of linked. There are certain law related to inheritance and succession.

    Mans social relationship start with the family.  In ancient societies the basic factor  of the larger social unit like race and tribe was the family. We learn a lot of behavior pattern from the family. Which are helpful to live in the society.
         Each family has its own believes and traditions. In addition to socialization, the family perform some other functions also. It is the family that provide the primary neds of the individuals

Today nuclear families are common. This consist of mother, father, and their unmarried children.
 
 









Extended family consist of more than one families live as a single family.

   Teacher divide classroom  in to five different groups and ask them to find out the main functions of family.

Start discussion and teacher participate in the proceeding of each group and facilities learning. Teacher clarified the doubts raised by the students and ensured by the participation of each and every student In the classroom. After the discussion teacher ask each groups to present their view points.

          Then teacher give another topic is there    any relationship between the increase of nuclear families and the increasing number of old age homes? Discuss ? after the discussion pupil  present their remarkable ideas.
            At last teacher summaries all main points, then teacher rub the blackboard give physical drill.
